Workshop Terms & Conditions

Please read carefully before booking and get in touch if you have any questions.

Cancellations/ requests to transfer to an alternative date are subject to availability and must be made in writing by email. We urge you to carefully check your diary to ensure that you are available to attend any classes you are booking with us. If you are unable to attend, unfortunately all our workshops are non-refundable, but can be transferred upon request, however a small admin fee will be incurred, detailed below.  You can send someone in your place at any time without incurring a fee (but please note it is your responsibility to find a replacement person and you must let us know in advance who will be attending).

If you cancel a place on a workshop giving:

more than 21 days notice we will be happy to move your booking however a £5 administration fee will be incurred.

less than 14 days notice we will be happy to move your booking however a £10 administration fee will be incurred

Less than 7 days notice we will be happy to move your booking however a £15 administration fee will be incurred

less than 72 hours notice or failure to attend your workshop will result in the loss of the full workshop fee.

If by any chance, we need to cancel a workshop, we’ll make every effort to provide customers with at least 24 hours’ notice. You’ll have the option to reschedule for another date or receive a full refund. Please note, we won’t be responsible for any additional costs or expenses incurred due to this cancellation.

The purchase of workshops will constitute acceptance of these conditions by purchaser and holder. Woburn Sands Clay  reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time.

Please attend all workshops on time. A certain amount of time is allocated to each session and therefore we will always start at the time advertised.

Children under 16 years of age must have an accompanying adult present and be supervised at all times. However, we do not recommend children under the age of 12  participate in Wheel Throwing workshops.

We don’t accept any liability for loss or damage of personal possessions and recommend leaving valuables in a safe place before you attend your pottery workshop.

For health & safety, we recommend that rings/watches/bracelets be removed before using the potter’s wheel, long hair tied back and fingernails are not long as this can hinder the throwing process. Please wear sensible footwear as the venue is first and foremost a working pottery studio.

Experienced and trained staff only will handle and fire your ceramic work.  However, by the nature of ceramics there is always a risk of technical failure for which we cannot be held responsible.

We recommend you collect your finished pots as soon as possible after you receive the notification email from us that they are ready. This helps to keep our storage area clear therefore avoiding damage. If finished ceramic work is not collected within 6 weeks from the date of our email, then sadly pots will be disposed of. If you attend a workshop from further afield we can post your work to you with an additional cost for postage and packaging. However, we regret that we cannot accept responsibility for any damages or undelivered items by Royal Mail.

Photography is allowed at the Studio but please be mindful of others when taking photos. We often take photographs of participants attending workshops to use on our social media pages and website. If you do not want us to use your photograph then it is your responsibility to make us aware before the workshop starts.

Any personal information you give to us will be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the new data protection legislation in GDPR from May 2018. Any personal data you provide, will be held securely on computer files for up to 12 months and used to process your booking only. We will not share your contact details.
